Underground and at grade: two very different floors
Independence is one of the few metro markets with real underground industrial space — mined-limestone complexes like the Carefree Industrial Park where floors sit on solid rock instead of expansive clay. We lay a vapor retarder directly beneath the slab so ground moisture can't drive up into the concrete, and before any coating, covering, or sealer goes down we run the F2170 relative-humidity test to prove the slab dry from the inside.
That test is not a formality. A coating laid over a slab still giving up moisture will blister and peel within a season, and on Independence's moisture-holding clay that risk is real. How flat an Independence distribution floor runs
